Dave was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended the University at Buffalo, achieving a Bachelor of Arts in Media Study (Production Concentration) and Sociology. He also attended Animation Mentor and graduated from its Character Animation program; and more recently, its Animals and Creatures Masterclass. His mentors were Blue Sky’s Pete Paquette, Pixar’s Victor Navone, Dreamworks’ Martin Hopkins, ReelFX’s Justin Barrett, Walt Disney Animation’s Jed Diffenderfer, Little Zoo Studio’s Jason Taylor, Digital Fish’s Mark Oftedal, ILM’s Charles Alleneck, & Framestore’s Arslan Elver.

In his spare time, Dave likes to draw, play his guitar, play around with Ableton Live, and lose at Scrabble.
